The Rotary Club of Nanaimo-Oceanside is a not for profit organization that is committed to the betterment of our communities, both here and abroad.

A Word from our President

Each year Rotary renews itself by electing a new leadership team within each club and internationally. The incoming Rotary International (“RI”) President choses a theme, not only to guide RI’s leaders, but also to guide Rotarians around the world. For the 2023-2024 Rotary year, RI President, Gordon R. McInally, of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, Lothian, Scotland, adopted the theme “Create Hope in the World”.

As a club, we hope to bring the opportunities and hope to more people in our community through our local initiatives. We focus our attention on youth and families as they are the cornerstone of our growing community. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders and those who will continue to do good in the world.

I welcome you to check out our club’s activities and invite you to come by to visit the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Oceanside’s meetings to say “hi” and get to see what we are all about.

Make a difference in the world

Thank you to our many sponsors for all their generosity. We couldn’t do it without you.

Dear Nanaimo Oceanside Rotary Club,

I just want to take a minute to send you all a personal message telling you how much everyone here at Loaves and Fishes Food Bank appreciated your help with the Food 4 Summer Food Drive. You had an especially difficult route in a previously untried area. However, I want you to know that your efforts brought in 608.48 pounds of food valued at $1,518.00. This was one of the higher yields compared to other neighbourhoods. So far our total weight is 11,546.7 pounds of food at a value of $28,000 and there is still food coming in today.

You have made a major difference to a great many people who might otherwise go without non-perishable food this summer. Your feedback on your area was also invaluable to me and I promise that should you choose to help us again next year, I can ensure you get a more gentle location. We could not have done this without dedicated community members like you.

Gratefully yours,
Abby Sauchuk, Development Officer, Loaves and Fishes Food Bank

We appreciate your donation, and all funds are kept right here in our community.
