For 19 years, you, and the Rotary Club of Nanaimo-Oceanside have made this gala the premiere event in town. Your presence and support have made it both the most entertaining, and the most anticipated fundraiser of the year. To date this event has raised over $800,000 for youth programs and projects in your community, and we thank you for that.
Please join us this year at Nanaimo’s Beban Auditorium for “That 70’s Bond”, this June 1st, at 6pm.
There are several ways to get involved. Our preference is to have you and your friends at the event, and you can also help us raise funds by sponsoring the event at some level, or by donating an item for us to sell in our silent/live auctions.
A Word from our President-Elect
Greetings from the Rotary Club of Nanaimo Oceanside
As President Elect, I am excited to assume my role as President, effective July 2019. I am honoured to be part of a group of people who go above and beyond at everything we put our minds to in order to benefit our community. I am looking forward to our two signature community events: the great James Bond Gala this June and our annual Christmas Santa Gift Collection in December, to help deserving school children.
I welcome you to check out our club’s activities, and invite you to come by our Rotary Club Oceanside meeting and say “hi”.
You may even want to stay and become a club member.
Norm Smith, President Elect 2018-19

A Word from our President
It has been my honour to chair this amazing group of people over the last couple of years. As a Club, we have raised over $800,000 in support of youth programs and initiatives in the Nanaimo area, and of this I am very proud.
It is with great confidence that I step away from the role as president, and welcome my friend and Rotary brother, Norm Smith as President-Elect.
Please join us at one of our weekly meetings. We meet on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m at the Nanaimo Golf Club. Visiting Rotarians and friends are always welcome.
Yours in Rotary,
Billie Jo Checko, President, 2017-19
